Bug Description

Binary package hint: libc6-dev

libc6-dev depends on linux-kernel-headers vers. 2.6.11.2 which is strange because there's no kernel 2.6.11 around in dapper anymore. I think it's kinda misleading, now that I need to install linux-headers-2.6.15-21.Is there a reason to stick to the .11 version number?

The dependancy is for linux-kernel-headers (>= 2.6.11.2-0)

Two things:

1) linux-headers and linux-kernel-headers are unrelated packages. This is an unforunate naming problem which isn't trivial to solve.

2) That says that it requires anything *newer* than that version.

We don't generally bump version requirements unless there's an actual need as it makes upgrades more complicated.

Closing this bug.

Tks,
