Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
When installing Nvidia 185 source along with glx, nvidia-xconfig is not automatically running and setting up xorg.conf which I thought is suppose to be normal and not making the end-user run the command.
When I first installed Karmic a few days ago after installing Nvidia I did not need to manually run nvidia-xconfig. Today I reinstalled Karmic and after doing an update and then installing Nvidia, after I rebooted I noticed the drivers didn't load and I had to manually run nvidia-xconfig to get xorg.conf setup.

Hi Dasfox,
I may be confused by your bug report, could you elaborate a bit more on how you ran into this?
It sounds like you did a fresh install of Karmic and then installed nvidia and it worked.
Then you did another clean fresh install of Karmic (using the same cd?) and then installed nvidia and it did not work.
That seems to not make sense to me, it should either work in both cases or fail in both cases. Can you clarify further, I'm guessing I just misunderstand what you've reported.
