Kicker desktop pager applet display desktop wallpaper doesn't work properly

The KDE kicker desktop pager has the option to show the wallpaper of each desktop. I've noticed on the Live CD (Flight 7) that if you set the desktop pager to display the desktop wallpaper it will only show the fourth desktop.

Then If I restart the X server (ctrl+alt+backspace), I can see the wallpapers of desktops 2, 3, and 4 but not 1.

This screenshot shows the pager with Desktop Wallpaper on, but only showing three of the four wallpapers. (This is after I restarted the x server).

I can confirm this and it's still a problem on Feisty. Sometimes it works, but I need to click on one of the desktops for the wallpaper for that desktop to appear.

According to the upstream bug it doesn't sound like this is going to get fixed anytime soon.

This isn't an issue in Kubuntu Intrepid (8.10) since Kicker is no more. (replaced by Plasma)
