When setting the Canada Multilingual keyboard layout I get an error

I cannot reproduce on Ubuntu 10.04; I am able to configure Canada - Multilingual and type.
~/.xsession-errors did not show any errors.
/var/log/Xorg.0.log shows no errors in generating the XKM file.
Reporter, if you can reproduce on 10.04, please reopen this report.
