[M7] server crashes when laptop is docked (XAA)

Noticed this in the Karmic Beta release when my laptop (Dell C640) is plugged into the docking station. I get to the login prompt, but when I log in the on-screen "progress" animation freezes and the mouse becomes unresponsive. The machine is still accessible via the network, however the console is locked-up (Ctrl+Alt+F1 does nothing). After another minute or so, the machine completely freezes (network sessions as well) and has to be hard-reset.

The problem does not occur if the machine is booted out of the docking station, but it will occur if the machine is booted in the dock and then removed before logging-in.

Moved up to the very latest this evening. I noticed some X11 fixes, but no change on this issue.

Your log (17MB!) had 100000 thousands of these lines repeated:

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
