Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve Mythbuntu by taking the time to open this ticket. I am marking this as confirmed since it seems to contain enough information for the maintainers to work with.

One follow-up question: Is this problem reproducible for you at all?

I have managed to reproduce this twice today but I cannot reproduce on demand.

In all cases, including the original, it occurs when updating metadata for multiple videos in quick succession (as quick as the system allows).
It does not reoccur on the same video and does not appear to be at a definable interval.

Unfortunately we are left waiting for upsteam to fix this... and as soon as they do, we'll automatically pick it up. Closing (Invalid isn't an accurate description, but is the only "closed" option on this bug besides "fix released", which this is obviously not).

http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/7282#comment makes the following statement:

" A retry (or, failing that, a couple retries) should work. This is more likely related to an issue with the upstream python library not dealing well with multiple queries running at once. We have submitted debug information upstream but until the author comes out with a fix, I am left recommending that you retry. Failing that, in an extreme scenario you may need to clear your tvdb_api cache with:

rm -rf /tmp/tvdb_api_*
"

Please don't let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening other tickets!
