Bug Description

Binary package hint: xubuntu-desktop

When I try to update the meta-package xubuntu-desktop, from the 1.26 version to the 1.27, synaptic tells me I have to remove gnumeric, gnumeric-plugins-extra and libgoffice-1-2 (the terminal just refuses to upgrade.) I have to install the package libgoffice-gtk-1-2 instead, and I suppose this is the issue, because when I try to install it separetly from xubuntu-desktop, I get the problems with gnumeric.

thanks for the report.
yes, xubuntu-desktop depends on libgoffice-gtk which is needed for abiword-plugins. gnumeric OTOH depends on libgoffice which conflicts with libgoffice-gtk, so they cannot be installed alongside.
But soon gnumeric-gtk will be uploaded to the archive, will depend on libgoffice-gtk and be part of xubuntu-desktop so this situation will improve.
