Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg-driver-
I (even though it's not really me) tried to install latest dapper CD (alpha7) but the touchpad is not working. My laptop is a Toshiba A30-881 and touchpad is an Alps. I also tried dapper livecd, but it is not working (I'm stuck when X starts with a the brown background and the X cursor). As I need something working, I installed another distribution: mandriva One beta (beta 1.0.3) and touchpad is working great.
kernel: 2.6.12-
Xorg is still a 6.9.0 (I have the log file for the mandriva).
I'll be away for 2 weeks, but when I return, I'll be able to give more info if needed (testing livecd for example).

Same issue with Toshiba A30-141 input/device doesn't show the touchpad. input/devices from debian kernel.
Tested on Dapper and Edgy beta 2 both don't detect the Alps touchpad. It looks like it is kernel bug becouse /proc/bus/
I compiled vanilla kernel and touchpad works, it works on other debian kernel too.
On request I will attach lspci and /proc/bus/
