Unable to create map with version 1:1.0.1-0ubuntu5

Bug Description

I recently upgraded my dapper installation to this version. With that upgrade, I was unable to create a map. Using strace, I get the same results as with the debian bug report http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=344313.

I downloaded the source for the latest dapper version and modified the debian/rules file to link against libdevmapper 1.01 rather than 1.02. With that change, cryptsetup now works again.

Hmmm.... LUKS partitions work for me with 1.0.1-0ubuntu5, it is just the normal ones that do not (see #44336). Does LUKS work for you? I could close my bug then as a duplicate of this one.

I don't have any LUKS partitions, just normal ones for which
1.0.1-0ubuntu5 does not work.
