Bug Description
Binary package hint: vlc
karmic beta
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release: 9.10
Codename: karmic
I do have medibuntu libdvdcss2 and w64codecs installed. Whilst attempting to play a dvd, in a new account in the freshly loaded karmic 9.10 beta release, the window comes up, and then goes away. Totem does the same thing but goes away quietly.
