Bug Description

Binary package hint: vim-gnome

When launching gvim from the terminal, I get the following error messages:

** (gvim:15626): CRITICAL **: gtk_form_set_static_gravity: assertion `static_gravity_supported' failed

** (gvim:15626): CRITICAL **: gtk_form_set_static_gravity: assertion `static_gravity_supported' failed

I'm using the 32 bit version of Karmic alpha.

Linux farrapo 2.6.31-11-generic #36-Ubuntu SMP Fri Sep 25 06:37:51 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

Not a critical bug, but annoying and a regression relative to previous versions.

Is this bug related at all with bug #402188? It seems so, and I see new errors spouted on the terminal every time I issue a command that opens another vim "windows" (like :split or :tabnew). I'm somewhat puzzled, since bug #402188 is marked as fix released, while I still see those messages in a fully updated 64bit karmic.

I use gvim by launching it from the terminal, so that I can have gvim use the current directory and also be able to issue commands in the project I'm working on.

I use :vsplit and :tabnew, which cause these errors.

Again, not critical, but a bit annoying since my console is filled with these messages.
