Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

Just updated to Karmic Beta und tried the included Amarok 2.1.90 version - and found a little annoying bug:
Playing Last.fm streams is free for some countries including Germany where I happen to live. When trying to play a last.fs strem I get the error message I have to be a paying last.fm member - which is untrue.

Don't know if this is fixed in 2.2.0 which has been released nor if this is a kubuntu specific problem - it is one nevertheless ;-)

What makes you think this is untrue?
Last.FM lets third-party apps only stream for subscribers. Apps still streaming without you being asubscribers don't use liblastfm yet and will break soon.

Changed in amarok (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

Who can I stream radio to?

Any API account can only stream radio to Last.fm's paid subscribers.

Note: Due to licensing restrictions, you may not use the radio API on mobile telephones."

Maybe this should trigger a "you must be a last.fm subscriber to use streaming radio outside of the website" or something similar instead of something that makes me think that my settings aren't correct or something is broken.

Although now I see in the code that there is an error message for this problem, I'm just not getting the right one ...
