This happens only when empathy is launched from the applications menu. If it is launched from indicator-applet, it shows up properly.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions:

* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

It is reproducible.

Specific steps:

1. Launch empathy. It will bring up a wizard offering to create an account.
2. Press cancel. The contact list entry will appear in the window list and the window picker.
3. Close the contact list window. Now the entry is gone as it should be.
4. Launch empathy from the Ubuntu menu. It will bring up the wizard again. Press cancel.
5. Note that the contact list window appears on screen, but not in the Window Picker applet, or in the Window List applet.
Optional:
6. Launch Empathy from indicator-applet. The entry for the contact list now appears in Window Picker and Window List.

I’ve upgraded empathy to the Lucid version, and the only change is that in step 4 it doesn’t bring up the wizard. The contact list still doesn’t appear in either window list unless opened through indicator-applet.

Note that I am not quitting empathy, but only closing the contact list window, if that helps.

to reproduce: after booting start empathy from applications menu it will as for keyring cancel it and close(not quit) then again start empathy from applications menu and it wont appear in window list/picker. but I think this is related to indicator applet
