I tried to install notify-osd via the softwarecenter. After clicking install nothing happened and i closed the application with "x". Then i noticed in the synaptic package manager that it was already installed ?!

Thanks for the bug report. software center 1 had indeed quite a few problems but version 2 have been a much better native. is anyone still facing this issue with Ubuntu 10.04 or 10.10
