Bug Description

Laptop; Trying to install ubuntu-live-amd64;
Computer: Gateway 7422GX
My Device manager is telling me this stuff:

K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] HyperTransport Technology

It's a fairly new laptop.. Should work fine.

Just for a bit of context.. it gets to the point in the install where it accepts my selection of partitioning scheme, then it starts to do it's work on the file system. Then a dialogue box that says "Installing System" says, at the bottem, "Checking the fat32 file system in partition #2 of IDE1 master (hda)."

But I never asked it to touch either the first or the second partition (this is a dual boot(win)). My scheme is primary partition 1&2 are for windows, primary partition 3 is for / and logical partition 5 and 6 are for swap and /home, respectively.

Anyway, when it's checking the fat32 partition, as I was saying above, a 3rd dialogue window pops up announcing the crash and asking that I send this Traceback. So here it is:
