Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

I did a fresh install of 9.10 Beta with zh_CN locale, empathy didn't localized though I have already installed whole language support.
I use msgunfmt to chech the /usr/share/locale-langpack/zh_CN/LC_MESSAGES/empathy.mo, there are only three strings, but strings on launchpad are translated: https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/empathy/+pots/empathy/zh_CN/+translate
So more investigate maybe needed for why it doesn't work.

I can confirm it.
I download the .mo file from Launchpad and replace the one that installed in my computer, after that the empathy shows all in my local language ( simplified chinese).

The recent comment indicates a languagepack issue, could be bug #442742?

affects: empathy (Ubuntu) → language-pack-gnome-zh (Ubuntu)

But this happened before the update of languagepack"20091003", which in the bug #442742 showed.
