Bug Description

Toshiba Satellite L100-173 fails to resume after a suspend, and it never did work in any version of Ubuntu I tried, starting with 7.10. Resuming after hibernate seems to work in karmic.

ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from resuming properly.

Vasily,
It seems we are missing some items. Would you mind running apport-collect -p linux <bug number> substituting the tag for this bug number.

Thanks in advance,

Vasily,
It is not, it simply needs to be set to 'triaged'. However, I do not have the permissions needed to do so.

Hi Vasily,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 441220

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I've tested it with both Ubuntu 10.04 beta1 and mainline kernel 2.6.34-999.

With the mainline kernel it doesn't even enter suspend, it just shows black screen with a blinking cursor and stops responding.

With Ubuntu 10.04 beta1 it works as with Ubuntu 9.10: it enters suspend, but fails to resume.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to do apport-collect because I have some weird issues with my graphics card in 10.04: it stops working at random (of course I'm going to report a bug).
