Auto-configured key names seem to be wrong for macmini

Binary package hint: lirc

The key names inserted by lirc configuration (VOLUP, VOLDOWN) from /usr/share/lirc/remotes/apple/lircd.conf.macmini seem to be bogus, as they don't work. Correct, or at least working names, are found at

Please can you fix this bug? All the information needed has been provided, and at the moment, this is one of the bugs meaning that use of the Mac mini's remote has gone from working perfectly out of the box in Hardy to working badly with considerable manual configuration in Jaunty and Karmic to not working at all in Lucid. Every fix gets us closer to having it working properly again!

This bug is present in the upstream distribution's sample lircd.conf for macmini. I have filed a bug with them, with a patch attached, see http://sourceforge.net/support/tracker.php?aid=3060024.
