Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

I upgraded by computer from 9.04 to 9.10 beta on Friday 2nd October 2009. I noticed a bug with the menus. Some icons were missing on the menu. I discovered that in "Appearance Preferences" that under the "Interface" tab, the option called 'Show icons in menu' was unticked. I ticked the box, all the icons appeared on the menu.

This is the first bug. This option should be enabled by default.

The second bug, is that this option does not work. When it was unticked, most of the menu had icons but some were missing. The entire "Applications" menu had icons, The "Places" menu had majority of icons, however 'Connect to Server', 'Search for files' and 'recent documents' did not have icons. Under the "System" menu, most of the items have icons, but some didn't.

If the box is unticked, then all the menus should have no icons, this is not the case, since most still had icons, only a few items didn't have icons.

Added some screenshots to show the bug. This bug can be fixed, by just ticking the box to show icons. However, if some doesn't want icons, they cant do it.
