Bug Description

Binary package hint: epiphany-webkit

Whenever I visit an https page that uses basic authentication, the page loads as a garbage character stream. The same page loads fine with firefox, and with epiphany-gecko.
Other https pages work fine with epiphany webkit.

OK, after spending some time trying to duplicate this bug with my own web server, I haven't succeeded. It looks like it only hits with rather odd configurations involving SSL and deflate.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A new version of Epiphany Browser is available in both Lucid and Maverick and we are wondering if this is still reproducible in any of those versions, May you please test and give us of feedback about it? Thanks in advance.
