No sound from the speakers after a suspend

Bug Description

I get no sound from the speakers on my hp nc8230 after coming back from suspend. Headphones do get sound.
I think this problem also occurs after hibernation, but I'm not completely sure.

I'm using up-to-date dapper.

Same problem with Dell Inspiron 630m (didn't try with headphones)
If I change volume level or mute/unmute, sound is back (BTW, 'speaker-test' is useful to test sound output ;-)
