Hello,
Could you please be more specific as to how formatting the partition as ReiserFS breaks the install? Does it crash the installer program?

Jonathan,

sure. Notice that i started the installation directly, without the LiveCD demonstration (i opted for install on the very first menu during boot).

well, just after i click Finish, the first step the installer did was formatting my HD. It stopped right there, accusing an error about not being able to format it using ReiserFS (sorry dont recall the exactly message). The dialog has no buttons, so i got stucked on that error message. The only solution was to reboot and select another FS (Ext4, which happened w/out any incidents)

i hope it helped. If not, just ask and i will try to remember any specific detail.

regards,

massa

PS1: related to installer, but not with ReiserFS: if you are on the last screen (reviewing all details) and click on Previous, the Finish button doesnt not convert back to Next, so even if you got to the very first page again, you have to click on "Finishes" instead "Nexts". I might open another issue for this if you think its needed.

PS2: related to ReiserFS, but not to installer: since my second HD is ReiserFS, i expected that fsck-reiser was going to be installed, however, every time i boot and it identifies a need for checking over the 2nd HD, it points and error about fsck cannot being used on ReiserFS. I might open another issue for this if you think its needed.

Ok, thanks. This is then indeed a problem with the installer, and not with KDE>

I've just removed ReiserFS support from the Ubuntu installer; see https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel/2013-September/037659.html for the rationale. I'm afraid that if this bug hasn't been fixed along the way then it now isn't going to be.
