Bug Description

I use multiple screens with linux, in my case 1920x1200 and 1280x1024, and they both share a virtual desktop (of 3200x1200). So if I go to the Settlers' graphics menu, there is only one option of 3200x1200 which is way too big for me :) I think you should include some standard screen resolution options by default, as long as they fit in the screen. For now, The Settlers is hardly unplayable. AFAIR the multiscreen setup with Radeon did not have this problem, I am using Nvidia now.

TIA

thats not a settlers problem, if your driver (nvidia -.-) does not send the correct resolutions valid for your computer, we can't guess them.
800x600 and 1024x768 should be there always.

You can manually set custom resolutions by editing your CONFIG.INI

perhaps a "enter custom resolution" in settings would be nice, if windowed mode is active

Hi again.
1st, other programs apparently do get the right resolution, but anyhow, why not make this a feature request? ;) because
2nd, there is no CONFIG.INI in my installation, there's only a settings.ger and it's binary. When, however, I change the part that seems to determine the resolution, the game keeps falling back to 800x600.
3nd, yes, such a custom setting would be really nice!

if there is now config.ini (in $HOME/.s25rttr/ (linux) or
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Siedler II.5 RttR (>=vista) or Documents\My
Games\Siedler II.5 RttR (<vista)) you should use the current nightly.

Perhaps the resolution problem is already fixed there?

I haven't had the time yet to try it, but I'm totally okay with a configuration file! Thanks! However you could think about including some standard resolution modes to select for other users :) [Anyway, the game seems to run smoother with Wine than native Linux, how come? The problem also doesn't occur with Wine!]

its a linux driver problem if its not running smooth in native linux

Even 800x600 is too big for my netbook so a custom resolution setting would be very nice. Currently I can set the resolution in the CONFIG.INI, but it gets resettet to 800x600 every now and then. Also some of the buttons on the bottom of the screen are cut of (for example the apply changes button in the settings dialog and part of the main buttons on the bottom when playing the game). So at the moment I am unable to play the game on my netbook.
