vlc 1.0.2 can not capture v4l2 video stream, vlc 1.0.1 works fine

Bug Description

Binary package hint: vlc

VLC 1.01 can capture the video stream from my adaptec videooh! 2010 pci card.
vlc 1.02 can not, the error is

 Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'v4l2://'. Check the log for details.

i discovered if you run from command line
"vlc /dev/video0" vlc version 1.0.2 will open the v4l device and display the video and you can hear the sound

This issue is fixed in debian version 1.0.2-1 (see linked debian bug report).

This debian release is merely a bug fix release.

vlc 1.0.3 is out. why not directly fix this bug by updating vlc to 1.0.3 version ?

seems that this bug has just been forgotten. fixed package seems to be even in karmic

still not working for me...
upgrading with version from vlc ppa https://launchpad.net/~c-korn/+archive/vlc works fine

why not upgrading to version 1.0.3 ??

Thank you very much for pointing that out!
1.0.3 is working with the capture card. Why they are so slow to upgrade the repository i just dont know.
I was looking to try a build of 1.0.4 but ran into roadblocks so I had given up.
