After last Karmic update Synatpic is gone

After the last updates, the synaptic was gone.

ubuntu-bug told me, it is not installed ???

Do you have rar-compat and/or scrollkeeper installed? Mine can't seem to choose which it depends on. You might have the same problem and in your case it gave up and didn't install anything...

What happens if you reinstall it with "sudo apt-get install synaptic" ?

Neither rar-compat nor scrollkeeper was installed.

At that moment the alpha began to erode massively. I reinstalled Synaptic - no problem - a few hours later the menues were mixed up in 2 different languages I use. Then some applications disappeared.

At this point I didn't follow all errors, because 3 days later I installed the Beta from scratch and all problems were gone.

And I don't know if to mark this as invalid or fix released, because I don't know the reason for the behavior.

OTOH for me it's gone and the problem never came back.

After upgrading to 9.10, synaptic was gone for me too.
It worked on Jaunty on my Dell Latitude D530 before.

No sign of synaptic in lshal, lspci of dmesg ...
