Bug Description

Hi there!

I have downloaded and installed the windows binary package for 0.47pre3.

There seems to be a display problem with new circles. In my case, I try to draw a circle in a newly created document. However, it is not beeing displayed. I just see the handles to shrink or enlarge the circle. In order to make the circle visible one has to select the round handle (on the right side of the circle) to create a cake-like portion (i. e. an arc) of the circle and then close the circle-path again again (via the toolbar-button).

Cheers
Volker

sounds similar to Bug 371386, particularly comment 5.
could you check your preferences file for the start and end values of the arc? (they should be 0)
On Windows this is at :
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Inkscape\preferences.xml
- alternatively, you could try renaming this file to be something else, which will force Inkscape to use fresh defaults, and may solve the problem.

Ok, those values seem to be the problem. My (old) inkscape settings contain the following values:
      <eventcontext
         id="arc"
         style="fill:red;"
         end="3.0991159e-12"
         start="5.3972858e-16"
         usecurrent="1"
         open="0" />

If the start- and end-attribute is set to "0", everything works fine.

Cheers
Volker

good to hear; in that case, if there is no objection, I'll mark this as being a duplicate.
