Bug Description

Slightly embarrassingly, disk is misspeilt "disc" in the Ubuntu rescue mode.

I don't see that. Where? Can you give me the context?

(Technically, "disc" is a British spelling, not a misspelling, although
it isn't normally used for computer disks in British English. All the
same, I wasn't aware of having used it.)

I'm English - it's never used for computer terms, only for descriptions of shapes. "disk" is always used for computer terms.

To get to it, go to "rescue a broken system", then look at /dev/dis*

You mean that the spelling you're referring to is "/dev/discs/..."? Nothing I can do about that; it's what the device nodes are called. *shrug*

This isn't really a bug, sorry. The only possible way to change it is to move away from the devfs-style naming scheme altogether; that is already on our agenda, although for reasons more significant than spelling. :-)
