How to hide the "Accessibility" icon is very unintuitive

Currently, in Karmic, the "Accessibility" icon is shown in the taskbar by default. This is understandable, however, removing it if you don't need it is EXTREMELY unintuitive.

The current process:
1.Click on "System"
2. Click on "Preferences"
3. Click on Keyboard
4. Go to the Accessibility tab
5. Untick 'Accessibility features can be toggled with keyboard shortcuts'

Seriously, who came up with that?? Five clicks ending with disabling an option with a useless label for someone who just wants to remove an icon he/she has no need of.
My suggestion:

1. Right-click the icon
2. Click a new option called "Quit".
3. A box pops up the first time the user does this, asking the user whether he/she wants it disabled permanently.

+1 ... I've had this icon sitting around for months, and never figured out how to disable it. It takes up space, and I've accidentally invoked a couple of unwanted accessibility features a few times. Very annoying. It'd be nice to have a straight-forward right-click option to remove it.

I've never seen this icon in Lucid or Maverick. Can someone test one of these two versions to see if this issue is still present? Thanks!

I've just ran into this issue this morning. In my case, the icon appears twice, one next to the sound icon, the other next to the wireless icon. The one next to the sound icon I could get rid of, using the method mentioned above, but I just can't get rid of the other one. I have no Virtual Assistance whatsoever checked in my startup programs. Still looking for a misfortunate key combination.
