Bug Description
Binary package hint: dselect
I am in the middle of my fourth repair job on a Karmic system.
In this instance I did a system upgrade through deselect after DL'ing all the new packages, the install process started, somwhere in the middle of that my system crashed and now will not boot.
I am getting a collection of udev errors - sorry I can't be more specific trying to extract data from the boot screen on a system that will not boot is not fun.
I have tried most of my tricks to get the system booted so that I can resume the crashed upgrade which is probably at the root of the problem.
Regardless my real complaint is that issues like this have been fairly common with Karmic. I have run debian/testing and ubuntu/testing systems for years. I have never had so many problems that resulted in unbootable systems as I have had with Karmic.
There's no usable information in that bug report and it's too late to debug.
