Bug Description
Binary package hint: gcc-3.3
The package doesn't exist in Karmic, so I can't provide the usual information.
This is a "wishlist" item.
Can libstdc++5 be made available in the repositories (at least in universe) so that proprietary software which depends on them (such as Mathematica 6) can still work when upgraded to Karmic? I understand if Canonical doesn't want to use the resources to support both libstdc++6 and libstdc++5 at the same time, but at least with the package in universe programs would continue to function.

The same problem with Oracle 10g and 11g: app/oracle/ product/ 11.2.0/ ctx/lib/ /libsc_ ca.so, not found
INFO: /usr/bin/ld: warning: libstdc++.so.5, needed by /opt/oracle/
Is it possible to have this library in Karmic repository (compat package)?
