Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-system-
This is a UI glitch, not a bug: The program behaves correctly, but can be confusing.
In the Processes window, typing any text initiates a text search for this text. If I try to initiate a search with a slash (/), as in various viewers and some versions of top, I get a search control but the search text is initialized with a slash... so it doesn't match what I meant to search for. It would be nice to special-case this so that typing a slash opens a search control with nothing in it.

Thanks for your report, and for taking the time to help Ubuntu get better.
I'm marking this bug as invalid, as this behavior is consistent with the rest of the gnome desktop. If you think the whole gnome behavior about on-the-fly search is wrong, please discuss it with the gnome team.
