Bug Description
-when i create a folder in a natilus window using the "icon view" it does not go automatically into rename mode as it does when i create it on the desktop...since nobody wants a folder called untitled this is very annoying
-when applications are opened from the applications menu they are not brought to the front but placed behind all other windows
-settings are saved for open windows but not for system tray icons like gaim...eg. i have gaim opened (but only in system tray) - then logout. when i login again gaim is not automatically started.
thanks
Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'gnome-desktop'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.

That only happens for sudo applications and is already known.

gaim is not session-aware, you can add it to your startup programs
