Bug Description
I'm trying to use Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Alpha6. When I insert the live CD I can for sure surf the net by wi-fi,but when I install Ubuntu into the HDD,network manager doesn't recognize any connection. I have an Atheros wi-fi card (Atheros AR242x)!
In Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope it's all OK (both on live CD and on HDD the connection exist).

I had this same problem. Basically, you need to install wireless drivers for your wireless card from hardware drivers to get them working.
