Hi Alex,

This warning should be harmless and just indicates that it took longer than expected for the system to resume. However, examining your CurrentDmesg.txt file there appear to be some kernel Warnings prior to this one. Lets keep an eye on this issue. Setting to Triaged. Thanks.

Changed in linux (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Triaged

At the very list this is a bug in the “crash warning” applet, whatever that is:

If it's a harmless warning then it shouldn't say “Your system has encountered a serious error[,] might become unstable now and might need to be restarted.” Actually, it shouldn't display it at all.

in CurrentDmesg.txt I see warning in suspend too, like "pm-suspend: page allocation failure."

I'm seeing these reported for amd64; I'm getting them on an i686 setup. Apple MacBook Pro 5,4.

Same with Karmic on Apple MacBook Pro 5,1. And a LOT of dups out there.

I get this warning after resuming from suspend with the latest karmic. I also have 100% CPU usage on one core caused by ksoftirq/0. Does anyone else have this? I don't know whether they're part of the same problem, or two different problems.

In my case it's not harmless. It is caused by a DVB-T stick (dib0700). Resuming lasts more than 40 seconds and me-tv doesn't work after resuming.

Happens after trying to resume from suspend. Using Karmic beta. Trying to resume from suspend results in a black screen and a mouse cursor, but nothing else. Although, with this crash I did see the toolbox claiming that there was a crash. Suspend started doing this after an upgrade to nvidia-185 from nvidia-180.

Same problem here on atom 330+nivida ion.
Seems to be harmless but the crash report applet is annoying.
This bug was also present in 9.04 - it just did not get reported and could only be seen in the kernel logs
