I declared bug 499188 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/499188) and was told it is a duplicate of your bug. However I use a i386 and you 64bits architecture. I have given a dmesg report in my bug description, perhaps it may help ?
Good luck !

I send bug report.
I was look up answers for joomla instalation in ubuntu answers. Suddenly I get a page to install Edubuntu. So I decide to install it.
I begun to follow the instructions and use a program that I don't remember it's name. This program start to uninstall a lot of programs. And when it finish, I was in a command line console.
Of course I could not restore anything.
So I reinstall ubuntu 9.10 from a live dvd (liket the first time), but (please don't get mad), I made a mistake, I do not choose the same partition ( I choose the ubuntu studio partition).
Well, I reinstall the ubuntu studio, so thats why I'm written to you.
Please feel free to contact me anytime.
I'm grateful for you support.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your installation media (CD/DVD) or with your hardware. Please retry your installation with new media and if it still fails I'd recommend testing your memory. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your installation media or hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck!

Upon further consideration we'd actually like a new bug report if you still have troubles with the installer after resolving this hardware error so I am setting this bug report to Invalid. Thanks for your understanding.
