Bug Description

Binary package hint: udev

After updating last night to udev 147~-4 and sysvinit 2.87dsf-4ubuntu7 my machine fails to finish booting. I think it's not mounting the filesystems correctly. I am using ext4 with the default partition layout.

possible workarounds/how to apply fix?
Grub's menu is inaccessible as there is no wait following this upgrade so i can't manually tell init to do something else. I'm at a loss as to what I can do other than chroot in with an install disk to fix this if a fix is released. I'm not even sure how to get at dmesg or any other logs without being able to edit grub's configuration.

I have attached an image of the symptoms that an end user sees in this scenario.

I have tried to reproduce this unsuccessfully with the sept 23rd daily live cd and an install from that same disc. I have been unable too so I am marking this bug as invalid.

Changed in udev (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
