Highlight mode after save as

Binary package hint: gedit

If I set the highlight mode of a particular file and then do "Save as" on this file the highlight mode is reset to whatever it was before I specified the highlight mode.

This is not the desired behaviour since the content of the file is not likely to change because of a save as.

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

Did you change the extension of the file on save as? That did change the highlighting for me, if before that I haven't set it manually. But after setting the highlighting mode manually, it did not change on save as anymore. So could you check again and if you still experience the bug behaviour, please? And if you do, please write a comment with the exact steps to reproduce.

I can not any more produce the bug. As of gedit 2.30.2 (ubuntu 10.04) the highlight mode is preserved with or without the change of file ending and manual highlight mode set.
