Problem with Maximizing

Bug Description

I am using Ubuntu 8.10 and gnome. When I maximize the inkskape window, I cannot press the buttons or pick the menus properly. When it is tried, the window simpl jump up and down.

This has been fixed. The problem of the jumping is caused by compiz. On the inkscape's side, the thing is that the window doesn't fit maximized in a default gnome screen at 1024x768 or less.
If you raise the resolution or deactivate compiz you can work without the jumping (although you won't be able to maximize at 1024x768).
Anyway, this has been fixed in SVN, so you can try with a nigthly build or wait until 0.47 is released

btw, you can disable the snapping toolbar. It may help.

I meant, you can disable the snapping toolbar if you use 0.47 pre and you still haven't enough space in your screens (even though the UI was fixed for small screens, there are some problems in very small resolutions, like EEE 7" screens)
