Writer misplaces text and images in docx documents

The following docx documents from microsoft.com does not render properly in OpenOffice 3.1.1 on Ubuntu 9.10 with all updates as of 2009-09-23. Images and text are misplaced and therefore some of the text is not shown.

The bug has been confirmed to remain in OpenOffice 3.2.0 build 9483 on Ubuntu Lucid 10.04

jova, could you please be specific regarding on which slide and which image is moved? Could you please post a screenshot of how it should look? Does LibreOffice Writer work for you? If using Lucid or Maverick feel free to perform at the Terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo apt-get -y install libreoffice-writer
