getting TV show metadata requires two attempts

I'm not sure if this is a mythvideo problem or the mythbuntu theme.
When I try to get metadata about a TV show episode (season/episode numbers auto extracted from file names), the first attempt results in the error message shown in the attachment. After exiting mythvideo, waiting, and going back, I'll see "TVShow 1x01 -" in the button and nothing down below. If I then grab metadata again, the pie-chart-spinner-bar comes up as I expect. Exiting mythvideo, waiting, and going back then shows the right episode plot, year, name, etc info on the bottom and in the button.

As I understand it, TV show metadata gathering should never use the tmdb.pl script since that is meant for movie metadata.

I am the author of the MythVideo metadata handling code. Your issue is due to you trying to run metadata grabbing on items that are not in your database (You have File Browse Mode On). MythVideo determines an item to be TV by parsing Season and Episode values out of the filename, and this can only be done when the item is added to the database. If you want the metadata to work the first time, add the item to the database (M->Scan For Changes, then exit mythvideo, slowly count to five, and re-enter).
