Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Dragging a table in OpenOffice Draw with the snap to grid option on, doesn't snap to the gridline properly. It does seem to snap at the same interval as the gridlines, but usually at a point between the gridlines rather than dead on them.

Hi,
The gridlines are subdivided in a number of points. Check out:
Tools > Options > Draw > Grid > Subdivison...
try to set the subdivision to 0 (zero) and check if the problem persists...
please let us know...

Hello,

I've tried with the subdivision set to 0 and the problem still occurs. I've played with all of the snap to grid options.

Also, if I put a basic rectangle on the same page, this snaps to the grid perfectly, but the table does not.

I've just done a test now. I have my grid resolution set to 0.5cm (horizontal and vertical). And the subdivision set to 0 (horizontal and vertical).

As I drag the rectangle slowly across the page I can see it snapping to the grid.

The rectangle start at 11.00 / 17.00. I drag it and the co-ordinates in the status bar increment as:
11.00 / 17.00... 11.50 / 17.00... 12.00 / 17.00... 12.50 / 17.00... 13.00 / 17.00

The table starts at 16.70 / 15.61. When I drag it across the page I get:
17.03 / 15.65... 17.53 / 15.65... 18.03 / 15.65... 18.53 / 15.65... 19.03 / 15.65

Let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks,
Michael
