Thunderbird should have a "Get Help Online" option in Help menu

Bug Description

I am using Dapper Beta, fully updated.

Thunderbird does not currently have a "Get Help Online" option in the menu linking to the Launchpad page:
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/dapper/+sources/mozilla-thunderbird/+gethelp

It would be great if it did have (it would help me file bugs if nothing else)!

Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have
the possibility of being implemented if you would submit a
specification for this.

You should first check whether it already exists at the Ubuntu specs
page (https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+specs) in Launchpad. If
that is the case, feel free to contact the drafter of that spec about
your comments/suggestions. Otherwise you can start writing a spec
following the steps described in
        https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureSpecifications.

I think there was a spec somewhere about this, however, I am unable to find it now. I hope you have more luck!

Hi Manu,

I wouldn't have thought it would need a spec as I understand the idea has already been accepted. Firefox, Rhythmbox and Sound Juicer already have this menu item doing exactly what I have requested. The page that the menu item would link to already exists to the same extent that the Firefox page does.

It was my understanding that all graphical apps were meant to be getting this. Maybe Sebastien Bacher can shed some light - sounds like a Desktop Bugs question :).

This is a bug report, not a spec request. It's even a bug report with a reasonably simple fix (steal the sketchy patch from firefox), but I'm not sure if it'll get in to dapper now that we're in a pretty draconian freeze. We'll see.

I just re-tested on a clean install of Dapper Final and the issue is still present.

Lets speed this up a little shall we..

This still isn't present in Edgy, lets try and get it into 2.0 for Feisty..

Thanks, Alex.

Shouldn't this also go to the documentation team? Yes/No? I'm not sure, but this option should exist without a doubt.

I'm not sure why it should go to the documentation team? As Adam said it probably just needs the patch stealing from firefox.
