Bug Description

Binary package hint: openarena

This concerns openarena 0.8.1-1 in Jaunty.

I play single-player games against computer opponents regularly, and one thing I've noticed is that after exiting the game, I'll find a newly-created file "botlib.log" in the current directory ($HOME if the game was started from the menu). This is a plain-text file containing what appear to be config directives.

This file is useless to me, I did not request its creation (as opposed to e.g. a screen shot), I don't want it showing up in my home directory, and there does not appear to be a way to configure the game not to create it.

The FreeBSD folks appear to have addressed this with a patch:

As far as I can see from the code, this should be fixed in version 0.8.5 - unless you're setting bot_developer to 1, in which case don't do that :-)

Since 0.8.5 is available in Maverick, I'll mark this bug as fixed. Thank you.

It looks like this bug is gone from the version in Lucid, even (0.8.1-6). Someone must have fixed it along the way; I don't see anything in the changelog about it.

Thanks for checking up on this.
