Bug Description

I just upgraded from Kubuntu Hardy 8.04 to Kubuntu Karmic 9.10 Alpha 6

I have three Jabber accounts that were all previously working, and all failed to connect after the upgrade. One is a gmail account, and two are gmail accounts using domains hosted at gmail.

The gmail account began working after installing qca-tls.

The other accounts needed qca-tls, but still wouldn't work until I had also changed the hostname from the talk.mydomain CNAME to the canonical name talk.l.google.com

It appears that Kopete can't do CNAME lookups anymore.

This is reported upstream at:

status: Unknown → New
affects: kopete (Ubuntu) → kdenetwork (Ubuntu)

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. But don't worry! This issue is being tracked by the KDE developers at: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201240
Once fixed in KDE, it will be included in Kubuntu once the KDE version the fix is in in reaches Kubuntu.

Thanks!
