Password and gnome-cups problem

Bug Description

Binary package hint: cupsys

Strangely cups doesn't recognize adminitrator passord or any kind of password when I try to submit changes in printing preferences.
Moreover gnome-cups-manager doesn't modify preferences in cups how it should according to ubuntu printing policies that states that printing should pass through cups

The first problem is (if you mean using the web interface) bug #41919.

For the second problem I am not able to find the duplicate. I am member of the lpadmin group and the changes I make to printer settings through gnome-cups-manager are silently discarded. Using up-to-date dapper.

Feel free to make this bug a duplicate of the relevant bug.
