Thanks in advance.

i ve tried the latest kernel, this issue has been present since gutsy, then in hardy i had a patched kernel from some ppa which made suspend resume work partially but still froze.
i think this laptop has at least 2 problems preventing it from suspending correctly because sometimes it suspends correctly(judging from how it worked before + blinking LED) and sometimes only the screen goes black.

Hi tyrant,

I'd encourage you to take a look to this wiki https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend to include as much information as possible to help the developers to find the issue

ok i just installed lucid alpha 3 and resume and suspend work like a charm.
BUT it rebooted on me twice because it was overheating and the on demand governor uses 3 more watts that every other setting.

Hi tyrant,

Thanks for your tests.

I'm not sure if those automatic reboots are related with suspension/hibernate issues. They shouldn't.

If I'm right, I assume that we should close this bug as "Fix Released" and open a new one, regarding the overheating issue.

Thanks

well looking at the kernel log the reboots are due to overheating (as it does so even when i dont suspend), and because of this issue i cannot use/test lucid as i would like to.
last time i tried filing a bug using ubuntubug launchpad itself had an oops,
could you please help me open a new bug for this issue or point me to a script that gathers the info you need?

thx for answering

@tyrant,

You should be able to open a new bug following this instructions https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs

Here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/HowToTriage/#Apport%20crash%20reports, you can also find additional information.

And finally bugs #370173 and #361123 include similar reports.
