Bug Description

Binary package hint: inkscape

Note: this bug is a duplicate of Bug #430793, but I've opened a new one at Apport retracing service request (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/inkscape/+bug/430793/comments/4 )

When trying to change the "Draw calligraphic or brush strokes" preset drop list (No Preset|Dip pen|Marker|Brush) with a Wacom pen tip ("Wacom Intuos3 6x8"), a completely blank dialog window opens (sometimes, usually it crashes before that window has time to open) and Inkscape window crashes.

Terminal error messages:
> Emergency save activated!
> Emergency save completed. Inkscape will close now.
> If you can reproduce this crash, please file a bug at www.inkscape.org
> with a detailed description of the steps leading to the crash, so we can fix it.
> Segmentation fault (core dumped)

It only happens when stylus is set to Screen mode (normal mode, the most often used), not if it is set to Window mode in Inkscape's Files>Input devices.

Seems similar to bug #284546 maybe?

Not sure, unless the backtraces are similar. The bug isn't triggered the same way, I can draw without problems, the crash only occurs when clicking on the drop down selection list "No Preset".

Seems fixed with libgtk2.0-0 v. 2.18. No crashes anymore.
