Bug Description

I have a ibm x40 laptop and use ath_pci/ath_hal/etc for my wireless card. I have tried to switch to using network-manager/nm-applet but everytime I have used it my system has locked up some number of minutes later -- always within 30 minutes.

I have the latest 686 kernel image. I clean installed using the dapper beta liveCD. i have updated regularly and tried to use nm-applet from time to time. It has locked everytime.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Most likely a kernel problem, or a hardware problem. NM can't cause a hard-lock.

Oh, I agree that nm can't cause a hard lock. But it's causing the kernel to lock up. And since I use the wireless network without nm just fine I can't debug it myself. I'm hoping that someone familiar with nm can guess as to what it might be doing that would cause the kernel to lock so I can file a bug for that.
