Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

Hello. I am running Dapper and Gnome. Some filenames with umlauts (a german special character) look correct in gnome and wrong in kde (konqueror, k3b...). See screenshot.

The filename looks right in nautilus and wrong in k3b.

I'm not sure if it's the same bug as this, but I have a problem with Amarok and K3b (not sure what other apps it affects) with which, for example, a lowercase 'd' will display as an uppercase 'B'.

It seems this can be resolved by removing the @euro from your locale.

For example, launch k3b with the following command line:

LANG=it_IT.UTF-8 k3b

Can anyone reproduce this with either Gutsy or Hardy? Is it still an issue? Thanks!
