Bug Description

This is mainly for laptop use. If I use Ubuntu (Gnome) the gnome-cups-icon consumes large chunk of the CPU time. And as a result of this the CPU fan regulary turns on.

I can change the mode of powernowd to Mode 2 but that is something I do not wish to do. As this slows down the processing of large applications.

I'm seing the same here in a Dapper Drake instalation. Top shows cpu usage of 95~98% of CPU.
If I kill it and start it from terminal the cpu usage is normal (afaict)

If you need more info please ask.

P.S: sorry for the bad english i'm spanish
